Berry Bros. & Rudd has launched the fifth season of the Drinking Well podcast. With the new series, the renowned fine wine and spirits merchant is setting its sights on new horizons as it expands into discussions with experts from different industries.

The UK’s oldest fine wine and spirits merchant is launching the fifth season of its podcast, Drinking Well, on November 6th. Originally launched at the beginning of 2022, Drinking Well has accumulated listeners in over 97 countries around the world and has been ranked highly on the UK charts.

The upcoming season will demonstrate the joys of exploration and discovery by venturing beyond the wine world. It will look to different industries to find parallels with wine drinking and collecting.

Welcoming industry experts and icons such as chef Michel Roux, concert violinist Charlie Siem, and expert tailor and Great British Sewing Bee host Patrick Grant, each episode will feature them sharing their knowledge, stories, and passions.

Barbara Drew MW returns to host the fifth season. Digging into each guest’s most cherished wine or spirits memory, she’ll discuss their cellars and how their passions relate to wines and spirits. She’ll then surprise them with a bottle that reminds her of them for the pair to enjoy throughout their conversation.

The opening episode, which goes live on 6th November, will feature guest Charlie Siem, one of the youngest concert violinists with a deep-rooted passion for bringing classical music to new audiences and Italian wine. In the second episode, Rachel Vosper, a supremely talented artisan candlemaker, will detail her experience running her luxury candle shop in Knightsbridge and how her expertise and extensive scent library pairs perfectly with her love of wine.

On November 20th, Drinking Well will spotlight Katharine Pooley, named the British Interior Designer of the Decade. She has been recognised globally for her innovative designs and exquisite craftsmanship. Balancing tradition with her contemporary vision, Pooley highlights the importance of history while moving towards the future, a parallel understood by Berry Bros. & Rudd.

The renowned tailor and judge on the popular Great British Sewing Bee, Patrick Grant, follows with his interview on Drinking Well. His work as a cloth merchant and tailor has catapulted his interest in sustainability. His philosophy on minimalism, quality, and accessibility mirrors conversations within the wine and spirits industry.

For the fifth episode, Barbara is joined by the legendary Michel Roux, a Michelin-starred chef and longtime friend of Berry Bros. & Rudd. His mastery of the culinary arts has become an asset in exploring food and wine pairings, and he is set to make for a delicious conversation.

On the sixth and final episode of the podcast, Barbara will introduce Jill Douglas to listeners. A Scottish sports presenter, Douglas is a patron of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, a charity close to Berry Bros. & Rudd’s heart, with a goal to increase research and call attention to MND, a (currently) incurable neurological condition.

Barbara Drew MW, the host of Drinking Well, says, “I’m excited to feature all these brilliant guests from such different worlds, whose new ideas and expertise offer fascinating perspectives. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to expand and challenge my knowledge, too. I hope all our wonderful listeners of Drinking Well enjoy the new series, learn something new and listen with a delicious glass of their favourite tipple at home.”
