Champagne is synonymous with celebration, particularly during the festive season. So, this winter, what better way to enjoy a glass of the pinnacle of sparkling wine than alongside the sparkle of Christmas decorations in some of London’s most luxurious hotels? Our friends at the Champagne Bureau UK have rounded up some of the capital’s most festive hotels, which create the perfect setting for drinking Champagne with loved ones this season.

The Dorchester
This year, The Dorchester is embracing the theme of ‘The Magic of Christmas’ throughout the hotel. Decorations, including the iconic 15ft UK-grown Nordmann spruce that stands in the lobby to welcome guests, have been overseen by in-house designer florist Philip Hammond.

Enjoy a Champagne-paired festive afternoon tea at The Promenade, surrounded by Christmas trees, twinkling lights and decorations this winter at The Dorchester. Here, various Champagne styles, including a Brut, Rosé, and Vintage, are on offer, and it is also possible to order by the bottle for the ultimate festive experience.

Champagne can also be enjoyed in the recently renovated Vesper Bar or Artists’ Bar at The Dorchester.

45 Park Lane
45 Park Lane has been transformed into the ultimate luxury festive destination this year, offering guests a contemporary alternative to traditional holiday fare. In keeping with the hotel’s strong ties to art, this year’s artists’ tree was designed by Maria Rivans with a theme of old Hollywood glamour.

Alongside the tree, Rivans will showcase an exhibition entitled ‘Tinseltown’ in the hotel’s lobby and Bar 45. Here, guests can enjoy a selection of Champagnes, including styles such as Blanc de Blancs, Rosé, and Brut, alongside the exhibition.

Claridge’s
For the 2024 festive season, Claridge’s has unveiled a 20ft Christmas tree by Sir Paul Smith. The tree, which sits in a Signature Striped barrel, has been decorated with Paul Smith colourful baubles, ribbon, and over 100 bespoke birdhouses.

At Claridge’s Bar, guests can choose from a selection of Champagnes, including styles such as Rosé and Blanc de Blancs. A number of Vintages from the years 2004, 2009, 2012, and 2013 are also available, to be enjoyed either by the glass or the bottle.

Raffles London
This Christmas, guests of Raffles London will be transported into the world of the English National Ballet, with the hotel decorated with original costumes from the Nutcracker in honour of the new production this year.

The hotel’s wide range of restaurants and bars offers guests a wide choice this festive season. At The Guards Bar and Lounge, Rosé Champagne, Blanc de Blancs Champagne, Brut Champagne and Vintage Champagne are on offer, perfect for celebrating the festive season.

The Lanesborough
The Lanesborough is softly sparkling with Christmas décor this festive season, as the hotel has been transformed into a magical wonderland created by Leanne Roberts-Hewitt from Wildabout Flowers.

Guests can enjoy Champagne against the backdrop of Christmas trees and twinkling lights at The Lanesborough Grill, The Library Bar, or The Garden Room. A varied range of Champagne styles is available here, offering something for everyone this festive season.
