One of the country’s leading estate agency groups Dexters has announced that from November 5th all of its seventy offices in London will be closed to the public to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The recent announcement of a new lockdown by the UK Government is causing changes in the way businesses will be operating over the near term. One high-profile company who’ve announced a change in the way they will be conducting business is the estate agency group Dexters. The company has seventy offices across London will be closing them to the public from November 5th, which will mean no walk-ins from the public or third-parties.

Dexters have made this decision to protect its staff and to help reduce the COVID R-rate. During the lockdown period, the estate agency will continue to provide its services with some members of staff working from within the office while being safely shielded.

Andy Shepherd, Dexters CEO, explained that: “The lockdown was still in force in May when we were given the green light by the Government to re-open all of our offices and since then we have fine-tuned our Covid-Secure working practices, keeping our colleagues and customers safe.”

He added: “For over five months now Dexters has worked with their office doors closed to the public and maintained Covid safe protocols which will mean they will be able to continue to work under these safe and shielded conditions during the second national lockdown.

We’ve reinforced how we keep our workplaces safe for our colleagues and how we can keep working for our customers during this challenging time.”

Dexters have support roles that will be carried out remotely during November, however much of their work needs to be carried out locally.

Andy explained “Most of our colleagues live locally to where they work and our customers expect us to be close to the property we are dealing with. Not only are we hard at work on the many sales and lettings that we have going on at the moment, but we are also responsible for looking after tens of thousands of Londoners who rent properties through us, and we need to manage their safety and property maintenance needs which don’t stop during a lockdown.”
