At Fortnum & Mason, the planning for the jubilant and triumphant celebrations for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee began over two years ago, from a beautifully decorated store to 60 celebratory gifts.
One of those initial ideas was a street party, now a reality with all the neighbours on Piccadilly, and it is therefore fitting that the celebrations spill out onto Piccadilly on Sunday 3rd June.
Outside the store for the first time in 305 years, Fortnum & Mason will be serving delicious Highgrove burgers, £7 each. Side salads will also be available. Fortnum & Mason has sold Highgrove products for over 10 years and the Highgrove burger is a firm favourite of regular diners to The Gallery restaurant.
Visitors to the street party may enjoy the Diamond Jubilee Champagne and Tea Bar. A Picnic Afternoon Tea for two, complete with self-assembly cake stand, with Tea, Sandwiches, Scones, Clotted Cream and Preserve, packed in a Fortnum’s Bag for Life, is available for £30. Guests to Piccadilly will be able to toast Her Majesty with the finest Jubilee Champagne from £29.50/bottle.
Further along Piccadilly, Fortnum & Mason products and gifts will be taking on the Jubilee ‘Market Stall’, selling all the Jubilee favourites such as the commemorative tea caddies, musical biscuit tin, Champagne truffles and the ever popular Jubilee tea towel.
For anyone who has forgotten to bring lunch or order a picnic, Fortnum’s offers pork pies, sausage rolls, fresh sandwiches, cheese platters, cool drinks, olives and savoury snacks from the deli counters and shelves on the Lower Ground Floor.
For those wishing to remember this historic occasion, the full range of Diamond Jubilee celebratory gifts can be found within the store across all floors.
