Award-winning Speyside whisky distillery The GlenAllachie has today announced its oldest and most prestigious single malt expression thus far, The GlenAllachie 35-year-old.

For more than fifty years, Billy Walker (above) has owned and managed the independent producer GlenAllachie. Billy is a whisky maker known for his extensive experience in cask management, which he couples with a fine sensory instinct. His new 35-year-old is a homage to the distillery’s unwavering commitment to cask craftsmanship and boutique, small-batch whiskies.

To create this landmark release, Billy hand-selected six outstanding casks, each containing whisky from the summer of 1989. Encased in a lavish oak box, the distinguished, antique single malt was matured in three Pedro Ximénez, one Oloroso, and two virgin oak casks.

According to the distillery, the ultra-premium whisky promises “A luscious symphony of rich mocha, ripe pineapple, sweet spices, and treacle tart.”

The GlenAllachie 35-year-old comes in a weighty presentation box, which has hand-carved detailing on its base, coupled with a beautiful moleskin-coloured lining, a solid brass ‘angle’, a plaque that champions the cask selection, and a removable oak plinth to hold the decanter.

In addition, the presentation box contains handwritten notes from Billy, which describe the story behind the bottling and his cask selection. Its cover is an FSC-certified paper made of spent malt.

The whisky is housed within an elegant, wild-shouldered decanter, which gives this ultra-premium whisky the presence it deserves and gives a nod to the classic GlenAllachie bottle. All of the product details are printed directly onto the glass decanter in gold ink.

Rounding off the refined look is a premium wooden stopper with gold foiling and the brand’s tagline, ‘whisky in good hands’, around its circumference.

The 35-year-old is at a high strength of 48% ABV, boasts a natural colour, and has been non-chilled filtered.
