Sightseeing can be tiring work, so it’s always a bonus staying in a hotel close to some of the hottest tourist hotspots. Hilton Bankside in London is one of those properties which has all the comforts you need and is just minutes away from some amazing sights
With the Tate Modern, Borough Market, The Shard, London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral right on its doorstep, it can be argued that Hilton Bankside has a prime spot in one of the most tourist-flocking parts of London. And you can take the weight off your feet as soon as you pass through the revolving door as you’re greeted with a mass of oversized plush chairs in the huge lobby area.
The lobby here is a real hub and meeting place from which you can see the doors leading to the OXBO Bankside dining area as well as The Distillery which is located on the original site of the 1800s Stevenson & Howell’s Standard Works, a renowned essence factory. It was rather tempting to walk straight into the bar which served signature cocktails and a 50-strong gin menu.

Our luxurious suite was spacious, offering home comforts with custom furnishings and no fuss clean lines. The bathroom was equally roomy with a powerful overhead double shower that could drain away even the most stressful days.
Having refreshed, my sister Harj and I decided to look around the gym and pool facilities ahead of cocktails and dinner.
The state-of-the-art leisure facilities with Life Fitness equipment is great for a workout whether you just want to keep fit or wish to stay on top of your fitness routine. A quick look around and I realised that I could do a good circuit session with the various equipment around. In fact, I was so inspired that I decided upon an impromptu session and roped my sister into it too.
Well, a three-course meal together with wine and cocktails was looming. The heated indoor swimming pool and the Jacuzzi was a real treat after the 45-minute session.
Depending on whether you have booked a suite, guests can gain access to the Executive lounge which serves as a chill out space with refreshments throughout the day. Afternoon tea can be enjoyed here as well as pre-dinner drinks. The staff swiftly brought out two glasses of chilled champagne for us while we mulled over a few snacks including cold meats, crudites, olives and nuts.
