The latest Hydrosphere in Reservoir watch’s Marine collection is a tribute to Greg Lecoeur. Just fifty watches will be made and are a celebration of the renowned underwater photographer and his dedication to capturing life under the sea.
Reservoir Watch has the Hydrosphere range within their Marine collection, which have dials replicating the gauges first used by pioneering divers. However, they are made for diving and not just as beautiful, stylish timepieces. Uniquely among Diving watches, the Hydrosphere only has one hand to make reading simple underwater.
It was only natural to partner with Greg Lecoeur as he is an exceptional Diver and Photographer, and the Hydrosphere range shares similar characteristics of the man. He uses the best equipment to dive and photograph Nature along the way, winning numerous awards for his work.
Greg selected the Hydrosphere Bronze diving watch model as the base then chose a blue sunray dial to reflect the seabed. When you purchase the watch, you receive a collection of Greg’s photographs placed within the waterproof presentation case. In addition to this and due to Lecoeur’s passion for protecting underwater wildlife, Reservoir will donate part of the sale of the watch to Coral protection through the Coral Gardeners Association.
The purchaser will also be offered a dive with Greg Lecoeur in the Port-Cros national park, Hyères (France), during a half-day session in September 2021, subject to terms and conditions.
About the Hydrosphere Greg Lecoeur
The Hydrosphere Greg Lecoeur has a large 45mm diameter bronze case with a satin finish. The bronze dial has a sundial finish, white index and magnifier on the jumping-hour window. The mechanism is self-winding with a power reserve of 37 hours, and complications including retrograde minutes, jumping-hour and the power reserve.
The user benefits from a Unidirectional, ceramic rotating bezel with a double scale for reading the time at different diving depths before and after the retrograde minute hand’s return. A protective Helium Valve ensures the watch remains waterproof, as does the Stainless steel screwed back, screw-down crown, watertight up to 250m. It comes with a Black rubber strap screwed onto the body and an extra blue NATO strap provided.
Usually, you will see three hands on the dial on Swiss watches, but the Hydrosphere has a retrograde minute and jumping hour hand act as substitutes. The brand’s timepieces are innovative for the radical way the time is displayed, which uses two watchmaking complications combined with the power reserve.
About Greg Lecoeur
Greg Lecoeur grew up in Nice, France, so he had the sea close to his heart from birth and spent his childhood in streams and the Mediterranean. Ultimately this shaped his future along with reading about Frenchman Commander Cousteau, world-famous Diver and Naturalist. Greg first experienced Scuba Diving as a young adult, and he was hooked, wanting to explore the world and its oceans. He studied Business but turned his back on this and set off travelling with his scuba diving instructor’s license, backpack, and camera-equipped for underwater shots.
