Choosing somewhere to celebrate Christmas Day in London is no easy task, due in no small part to there being too much choice! To help, we’re publishing a guide to some of the restaurants that’ll be open on the 25th of December, where you can enjoy a first-rate festive feast.
Choosing places in London to enjoy amazing cuisine on Christmas Day is never easy, and no doubt, we’ll be contacted over the next few days by restaurants unhappy they haven’t been included in this guide. Obviously, we can’t feature everyone and there will be many other amazing places we’ve not included (which we may do later).
To start, here’s a guide to five first-class restaurants where you can experience festive dining at its best on the special day.
Café Biltmore welcomes guests to their hidden Christmas terrace
Café Biltmore Restaurant & Terrace at The Biltmore Mayfair are celebrating Christmas Day with an extra-special 5-course menu designed by Jason Atherton. The menu costs £120 per person, with a dedicated children’s rate of £60 per person. The terrace will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland, surrounded by foliage-covered walls, festive lighting, cushioned seating and heaters during the cosy period.
On arrival, guests will be greeted with Mulled Wine. This will be closely followed by Jerusalem artichoke and Périgord truffle soup and Severn , and wye smoked salmon with cream cheese, dill, sourdough and lemon. The main will be a Laurel Farm bronzed turkey with roasted seasonal vegetables with the classic Christmas pudding with a generous amount of brandy sauce and vanilla ice cream to finish.
There is always room for cheese on Christmas day, and a selection of British & European cheese, served with spiced apple chutney, crackers, Mince pies, Cognac truffles alongside a tea and coffee selection will be an ideal accompaniment (£15 supplement). To make a booking, click here.
The Grill at The Dorchester – A classic Christmas with a modern twist
This Christmas is set to be a fun one at The Grill at The Dorchester, thanks to seasonal menus and live music throughout Christmas and New Year. Head chef Tom Booton will be presenting his own special take on traditional British dishes in this warm and welcoming space at the heart of the hotel. As well as festive menus starting from November 16th, The Grill at The Dorchester will be serving beautifully crafted menus for Christmas Day Lunch (£350 per adult). Full details are available here.
Celebrate in style with an opulent feast at The Stafford
Located in the heart of St James’s, surrounding a private cobbled courtyard, The Stafford London will be a fantastic place to celebrate the festive season with its glittering Christmas trees and over 100 years of tradition.
For festive dining and drinking, guests will be spoilt for choice, with the hotel’s celebrated restaurant The Game Bird, as well as the award-winning American Bar, and many private dining options, including the 380-year-old Wine Cellars.

Indulgent French-inspired Christmas Lunch at Le Pont De Tour
Le Pont De La Tour has launched a glamourous yet cosy winter terrace on the banks of the Thames (see main image). Guests can enjoy a bespoke menu of Laurent Perrier Champagnes alongside an indulgent caviar selection. The Jardin D’Hiver is the ultimate location for a romantic dinner for two or an evening with friends, twinkling lights and stunning views up the river to Tower Bridge.
