The Arora Group has purchased the famous Luton Hoo Estate, consisting of the Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa and other facilities on the extensive site. Located north of London, it occupies an ideal location for travel to any part of the UK and is a superb destination for a holiday.
Although Luton Hoo Estate sits near to the M1 Motorway, you would never know it once you enter the site. The 1000 acres that envelop the hotel, spa and golf course provide a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of life. Beautiful nature at its best can be seen everywhere on the estate, and you will love the views all around. As a guest, you will be able to explore the lakes, woods, and parkland used for many films, including War Horse.
Accommodation is available at three sites within the estate, and there are many room choices from luxury bedrooms to full Mansion Estate Suites. As you would expect, all the rooms are immaculately furnished and equipped with everything you will need for a perfect stay.
As a Hotel guest, you have use of the impressive Spa facilities where you can relax and get away from it all. Swim in the fantastic indoor pool, which has excellent views of the landscaped greenery surrounding the hotel. Relax in the Sauna, indulge in one of many treatments available, which can be enjoyed as part of a package.
Dining at Luton Hoo Hotel has been described as some of the best in the Shires. The Werner restaurant and Adam’s Brasserie are two formal facilities producing good food.
The Wernher Restaurant
The Wernher Restaurant is one of the standout features of the Luton Hoo Hotel. The restaurant is named after the art collector Sir Julius Wernher who purchased Luton Hoo in 1903. The part of the mansion housing the restaurant was remodelled in the early part of the 20th century by the same architects who worked on the Ritz Hotel. Inside this area is exotic marble panel works, complemented by fabrics reminiscent of those found in the Palace of Versailles. It is a spectacular location befitting of a man who was engrained in the English establishment.
Adam’s Brasserie
Housed within the historic Stables building, designed by the distinguished 18th-century architect Robert Adam, is the Adam’s Brasserie, offering a slightly more informal dining style than The Wernher Restaurant. The decor of the Adam’s Brasserie is bright and contemporary, its walls lined with stills from many films and TV shows shot on location at Luton Hoo.
There are plenty of less formal dining establishments with lounges, tea rooms and the 19th restaurant and bar at the Golf course.
Arora Group’s purchase of Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa continues the journey of portfolio diversification, and the hotel is well-positioned to capture the significant pent-up demand from leisure and corporate travel from domestic and international markets.
“The acquisition of Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa support our strategy to diversify our hotel portfolio, and we are excited to build on the already significant investment and development by Elite Hotels since their purchase of the estate in 1999. We are excited to welcome the Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa team to the Arora Group and are looking forward to the opportunities ahead for our expanded family.” – Surinder Arora, CEO and Chairman of the Arora Group.
Graeme Bateman, Managing Director of Elite Hotels, commented: “Naturally, we are sad to be parting company with Luton Hoo Hotel, but we do so in the knowledge that we have passed the custodianship of this wonderful property into safe hands. We wish Surinder Arora and his team every success as they move Luton Hoo Hotel into a new era.
May I also take this opportunity to express my huge gratitude to Matthew Long, General Manager, and all his colleagues at Luton Hoo Hotel for their considerable personal commitment over the past 14-plus years.
