Lyonheart Cars Ltd, the British luxury sports car manufacturer, has announced that it will both increase production of their new Lyonheart K model to a series of 250 cars, and introduce a convertible variant as part of this run.
The latest announcement is the result of a very encouraging customer response since the ‘K’, a modern take on the iconic Jaguar E-type, was first presented to the public in February 2012.
Created by Robert Palm, founder of Swiss design firm, Classic Factory, the Lyonheart K will be built in Coventry, West Midlands, at Envisage Manufacturing, well-known for their expertise in building low volume series for renowned carmakers. The state-of-the-art all aluminium chassis and a finely tuned multilink chassis offers superb dynamics and agility. Lyonheart’s design philosophy is simple: use only genuine materials such as leather, veneer, polished stainless steel, brushed aluminium, and chromed metal.
Opening the traditional, fronthinged clamshell bonnet will reveal the high-tech Cosworth-refined 5.0-litre supercharged powertrain which delivers 575PS and 700Nm of torque. This allows the car to sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 4 seconds, and to an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).
In terms of the sales distribution, 70 percent of the production will be sold in Europe, 10 percent in the Middle East, and the remaining 20 percent in China. The production will be strictly limited to 250 cars, including the coupé and convertible versions. The price will remain well under €400,000 before tax and deliveries are scheduled to start in early 2014.
Robert Palm said: “Every part of the Lyonheart K is developed, engineered, and hand-built in England. The build quality will match and even surpass the best you can find on the luxury car market. With partners like Envisage and Cosworth, we are truly confident to be able to put an extraordinary product in the hands of true connoisseurs.”
