With the eyes of the world on Britain this summer as it hosts one of the world’s biggest sporting events, great British audio manufacturer, Naim Audio is joining in the celebrations and flying the flag for true British manufacturing with a new campaign.
The A Great British Naim campaign will run throughout the Olympic period and aims to share some of the passion and technique that goes into all Naim products that have helped pioneer the British audio industry. As part of this, one lucky member of the public will be able to take the great British Naim experience home by simply entering their details in a competition to win a prize package comprising Naim’s award-winning SuperUniti all-in-one audio-player, a pair of Naim’s Ovator S-400 speakers and an iPad to control their SuperUniti, browse their music collection and build playlists through Naim’s n-Stream app; a prize worth over £7,000.
Naim Audio has been hand-crafting its legendary audio equipment from its home in Salisbury since 1973. Each Naim product is made brilliant by the many people involved in engineering & production. At Naim, the manufacturing process is more than making units that purely play music. It is about achieving an ‘as live’ musical experience that creates an emotional connection between the artist and the listener. As part of the campaign, Naim Audio has produced a video entitled ‘The Art of Listening’ which demonstrates how this passion becomes reality. Naim’s in-house research and development team develop world-class audio circuits and conduct extensive research looking at how new software can influence the sound produced by analogue electronics.
This extra work ensures all of Naim’s products produce the best possible sound and the ultimate listening experience for customers. Naim Audio values the active involvement of its supporters and customers, and in addition is encouraging them to share their stories on what Naim means to them on Naim’s Facebook page. The best entries will be featured on Naim website and the single best entry, as judged by Naim, will win a Naim UnitiQute all-in-one audio player.
A key initiative of MiiGB was 30 under 30, which aimed to find 30 young rising stars in British manufacturing that have the passion and ambition to continue Britain’s manufacturing tradition. Naim Audio’s Simon Drake, general manager of Naim’s music label Naim Label, was selected as one of the 30 stars. Simon has been influential in driving the success of the independent label and its artists, including overseeing the launch of three sub-brands – Naim Edge, Naim Jazz and Naim Classical – and jazz band Empirical’s winning of a MOBO award in 2010. Indeed this very week, and for the first ever time for a Naim Label band, Phantom Limb, a band that Simon has nurtured, are taking to the airwaves as part of Radio 1’s BBC Introducing playlist and will be played during every show on the station this week. As one of the 30, Simon will now act as an ambassador for MiiGB, sharing his experiences with those aspiring to enter the sector.
