Niels van Roij Design will be at the Geneva Motorshow 2019 with premium tyre manufacturer Apollo Vredestein to showcase their stunning-looking Tesla Model S-based Shooting Brake.
Niels van Roij Design has imparted their extensive design skill onto one the world’s greatest electric cars, the Tesla Model S. The result is a beautiful looking Shooting Brake with both dynamic and sporty characteristics.
The design theme called ‘Bold Chrome’ was specifically chosen to highlight the cars visual appearance. It features high gloss chrome window trims which emphasises the bold dynamic lines of the car.
Niels van Roij commented: “Based on extensive design research, we developed the design DNA for this Shooting Brake. The conversion merges seamlessly with the base vehicle, whilst clearly communicating through form, design language and materials that this is a tailor-made Shooting Brake.”
According to Van Roij, the essential elements of the design theme that was chosen are its dynamic, bold profile and its continuously flowing lines: “And of course we added a completely new sculpted rear-end, keeping the shoulders of the car alive, thus ensuring a bold stance.”
The newly designed tailgate features a rear spoiler with hidden rear window wiper. This is one of the key features keeping the rear end clean of any visual clutter.
To give the car an even bolder appearance, specifically when viewed from the front, Niels van Roij Design added a chrome trim that runs from the A-pillars all the way along the roofline and around the sculpted panoramic roof.
Finally, a unique colour was developed: the green metallic with a twist of gold is an ode to Britsh Racing Green and gives the Model SB an elegant yet striking appearance.
