A few months ago, we wrote an article about The Chinese Timekeeper, the most visible of the Chinese luxury watch brands in the Western world.
The Chinese Timekeeper (CTK) is based in the Wan Chai area of Hong Kong and headed by French national, Adrien Choux. This luxury watch company was founded on the back of Adrien’s previous working experience at Officine Panerai and his passion for watches.
The word quickly spread about the brands high quality timepieces for men, all Chinese made components, excellent build quality wrapped up in an attractive design. But as we have just mentioned, the brand only produced watches for men. Adrien realised that he wasn’t going to achieve his vision by only offering part of what the company was capable of and knew he had to widen the brands appeal. Behind the scenes he worked feverishly on designing a new collection that would still carry the brands signature style elements, but would also be feminine enough to attract a whole new audience. Early in 2014 he has what he always wanted, a collection specifically created for ladies.
Introducing the CTK Lady Collection
The first pieces in the lady collection have arrived. All three carry similar design aspects that the brand is known for housed within a smaller 38mm case. The watches are hand-crafted in Hong Kong and tests with some of the female contingent within our offices leads us to believe that Adrien has got it right. All three models in the CTK Lady collection are well-proportioned with a choice of straps and styles to suit even the most difficult to please. It’s tough for us to determine which is our favourite, the silver dialed red jade version is lovely, however this writer would personally lean towards the blue dialed version with diamonds. The clever use of the Chinese Timekeeper logo and the constellation styling, wins my vote by a hair’s breadth.
A very special offer
Adrien wanted to launch the CTK Lady Collection in the most spectacular way possible. Those that choose to pre-order pieces from the collection can not only benefit from an amazing discount, but will also be an honorary ambassador for the brand. Firstly we will look at the discount structure, the first six pieces ordered will benefit from a 40% discount, the following eight will get a 35% discount and the remaining timepieces will be offered at a 30% discount. Those that pre-order will be able to select their lucky edition number (e.g 08/38 on a first come first served basis). As each model is limited to only 38, you’ll need to be quick. The Chinese Timekeeper web site will have a special section dedicated to those that pre-ordered, it’s the brands way to include you in its history.
