Jaquet Droz, the watch brand that brought us the magnificent Bird Repeater, have introduced another special timepiece, the Grande Seconde SW.
With Baselworld 2014 approaching rapidly, many of the leading watchmakers are in final preparations for the watch and jewellery industry’s premier showcase. This year, Luxurious Magazine has seen some excellent and unique Baselworld editions, Jaquet Droz joins the ranks of excellent offerings with the stylish Grande Seconde SW.
With over 250 years of superb watchmaking under the brands belt, it comes as no surprise that the Grande Seconde SW is more than a little special. The watch is instantly identifiable by the two off-centred dials that form a figure of eight. This same styling continues on other collections from the brand, winning acclaim from collectors and watchmakers around the world. The famous Côtes de Genève ornamental pattern typical of Swiss watchmaking has been used on the dials of a new model in anthracite gray. A series of regular lines, the pattern highlights the watch’s features and gives it unprecedented depth. The traditional rubber and metal strap of the Grande Seconde SW has also been replaced by the fine lustre of an alligator leather strap in a colour to match the dial.
It was back in 2008 that Jaquet Droz launched the Grande Seconde SW, a sporty reworking of this iconic model that has only become more successful over the years. A new version will enhance the line in 2014 and with a new Côtes de Genève decoration the Grande Seconde SW will have an even greater aura of luxury.
