Hasselblad introduce a very limited edition of the Lunar Camera
Hasselblad’s Lunar range was first launched last year, inspired by the company’s first camera in space, the legendary Hasselblad 500C.
Less than one year after the global launch of the Lunar (Luxurious Magazine were present at the Italian launch in Milan) Hasselblad has introduced this latest limited edition of only 200 to coincide with Chinese New Year (Jan 31st).
The Hasselblad Lunar Limited Edition is designed with the latest capture technology and crafted in lightweight titanium with a luxurious and unique red Tuscan leather grip, a black leather shoulder strap enhanced with red stitching and exclusive PVD matte gold-treated top plate. With its evocative retro look, the Hasselblad Lunar clearly revives the timeless charm of the 500c.
Hasselblad CEO Ian Rawcliffe said: “We wanted to celebrate what, coincidentally, is also known as The Lunar New Year, with a unique and iconic limited edition camera which we believe will be revered as a true example of camera art by photo-connoisseurs and collectors across the world. Only two hundred have been developed in our Italy-based design centre and the exclusive red and gold colours on the grip and body underpin the traditional Chinese belief that these shades represent good fortune and joy. Our Lunar mirror less, interchangeable lens camera range embraces all the advanced technology found in top DSLR models and each unit in this latest Limited Edition version is offered sequentially numbered.”
The feature-rich 24 megapixel Hasselblad Lunar Limited Edition camera incorporates Full HD Video capability and bundles with a black E-mount 18-55mm lens. The camera’s wide range ISO sensitivity allows the user to shoot in almost any light. The unit’s special PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) finish provides hardness that is second only to diamond.
Mr. Ian Rawcliffe added: “This is a unique opportunity for a very small number of discerning photographers who want high-spec shooting capability linked with matchless Italian craftsmanship in a point and shoot camera, to invest in a photo-capture icon.”
The founder of Luxurious Magazine, Paul Godbold, has a Hasselblad Lunar that he uses frequently often remarking on the ease of use and stunning build quality. The combination of the Hasselblad name coupled with every-day usability makes it the perfect combination. The introduction of this limited edition will ensure that a select group of people around the world will own a product with an iconic brand name that is an aesthetically compelling piece of camera art. Its ergonomics, its weight and its design all make it irresistible to the touch.
The price for this unique limited edition camera (taxes not included) is €7,200.
