On the 26th of November, Tiancheng International will be holding its Jewellery and Jadeite Autumn Auction. A fabulous array of branded pieces from some of the world’s foremost designers and jewellers will be on offer at the auction, coupled with natural jadeite, diamonds, and coloured gemstones.
Leading the sale is an extremely rare pair of natural jadeite and lavender jadeite bangles. Also gracing the auction will be a 13.56 carat untreated natural Colombian Muza emerald ring with and a Burmese pigeon’s blood ruby ring from Mogok, which is 18.18-carat and is natural and unheated, both hailing from fabled mines.

Lot 157: A very Fine Pair of Jadeite and Lavender Jadeite Bangles. Estimate on Request.
Bangles are among some of the finest pieces in jadeite collecting and are highly sought after by connoisseurs. Jadeite bangles of superior quality are exceptionally difficult to come by as they need to be carved out of a single piece of premium-grade boulder. Plump and robust, this pair of bangles shows off their captivating hues in full roundness. The rich and radiant emerald green, as well as the luscious and beguiling lavender, are the perfect embodiments of auspiciousness and harmony.
Lot 60: Jadeite and Diamond Necklace. Estimate: HK$ 4,000,000 – 6,000,000 / US$ 513,000 – 770,000.
The production of jadeite necklaces requires a large amount of rough of homogenous quality. It also puts the craftsman’s expertise to the test, as it involves highly complicated polishing procedures. This lot consists of 82 beads of a luxuriant green hue and remarkable clarity, forming two substantial strands that are suitable to wear together or separately.
Lot 80: 18.18-Carat Natural Unheated Burmese Mogok “Pigeon’s Blood” Ruby and Diamond Ring. Diamonds together weighing approx. 9.65 carats. Estimate: HK$ 7,500,000 – 9,500,000 / US$ 962,000 – 1,218,000.
Natural Burmese rubies are typically smaller, making those of 5 carats or above very rare. Over the past decade, superior-quality Burmese rubies of an impressive size have been like gold dust in the auction market. This is a true wonder of nature and weighs over 18 carats. The gemstone was unearthed in the famed Mogok mine in Burma. Surrounded by a garland of brilliant white diamonds, the irresistible fiery ruby, displaying the most desirable “pigeon’s blood” crimson hue, is the epitome of luxury.
Lot 156: 13.56-Carat Natural Untreated Colombian Muzo Emerald and Diamond Ring. The diamonds alone weigh approx. 5.50 carats. Estimate: HK$ 6,500,000 – 9,500,000 / US$ 833,300 – 1,218,000.
In the world of emeralds, those originating from the Muzo mines in Colombia are the rarest and are celebrated for their vibrant, lush green hue. This highly-coveted quality is known as “oil drop” by the locals, has a hue so rich and saturated that it seems as if oil could drip from them. At 13.56 carats, this emerald is a proud native of Muzo. Free of any oil enhancements, it is endowed with a mesmerising green and unrivalled clarity, making it a stand-out piece in any private collection.
Lot 155: 67.61-Carat Natural Unheated Mozambican Paraiba Tourmaline and Diamond Necklace; Diamonds together weighing approx. 8.00 carats. Estimate: HK$ 880,000 – 1,200,000 / US$ 113,000 – 154,000.
Heat treatment is a common enhancement for Paraiba tourmalines. Using relatively low-temperature heat enhances the gemstone’s hue while leaving its chemical composition and overall stability intact. Fewer than 1% of Paraiba tourmalines in the market are free of heat treatment, of which this impressive 67.61-carat natural Paraiba tourmaline is one of them. The gemstone displays a gentle bluish-green colour and superb clarity reminiscent of the limpidity of a flowing stream, which is echoed by the sparkles of the scintillating diamonds that surround it, giving the necklace a dignified glamour.
Lot 99: 17.01-Carat Natural Fancy Vivid Yellow VS1 Clarity Diamond Ring. Estimate: HK$ 5,400,000 – 8,400,000 / US$ 692,000 – 1,080,000.
In addition to magnificent jadeite and coloured gemstones, diamonds are also fabulous gifts from nature. This autumn, Tiancheng International is offering a 3.54-carat natural fancy greenish blue diamond ring and a 17.01-carat natural fancy vivid yellow diamond ring. The pear-shaped blue diamond glistens, and the ample yellow diamond exudes a glorious golden hue, rendering it a spectacular sight to behold.

This exquisite diamond bracelet was created by Van Cleef & Arpels in 1969. The baguette and circular-cut diamonds are set alongside each other in an artistic, symmetrical design, manifesting the very essence of a classic, old-world charm.
Tiancheng International Autumn Auction Information
The Autumn Auction preview takes place from 20th to 25th of November (10 am to 6 pm), and the auction is on the 26th of November 2021 (1:00 pm) at 30/F Bank of China Tower, 1 Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong. Those wanting to bid can do so in person, by absentee and by telephone bidding.
