Luxury and glamour are the inspiration for the sophisticated redesign of the spacious guestrooms at Doral Golf Resort & Spa Miami (USA), the newest addition to the award-winning Trump Hotel Collection.
After purchasing the property in June 2012, the stated objective of this comprehensive $200-million transformation, which will begin in the Spring of this year following the PGA TOUR’s World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship, is to create the greatest golf resort in the country, if not the world.
Situated on 650 acres in the middle of Miami, Florida, Doral Golf Resort & Spa currently has 693 guestrooms across 10 lodges, in addition to five championship golf courses which boast the legendary Blue Monster.
The resort features more than 90,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 24,000-square-foot ballroom, a sprawling 48,000-square-foot spa with 33 treatment rooms, and the highly regarded Mclean Golf School and teaching facilities. This is, of course, not forgetting the six food and beverage outlets and a private members’ clubhouse.
Designed by Ivanka Trump in cooperation with WATG’s Wimberly Interiors, the guestrooms will feature a stylish palette of elegant neutrals – including ivory, Champagne and caramel – accentuated with mahogany wood and gold-leaf Spanish revival details.
Furnishings and details will include golf-inspired tartan plaid, classic herringbone and geometric patterns, while the artwork will feature classic photos of golf legends that have either played Doral Resort’s renowned Blue Monster course or are admired by The Trump Organisation’s chairman and president, Donald J. Trump.
The property will remain open during the renovation, which is slated to conclude in 2014, at which point the resort will be rebranded “Trump Doral.” Reservations can be made at www.trumphotelcollection.com.
