This is something that Cannizaro House in Wimbledon has just undergone. The results of the £3million pound restoration can now be seen with one of the main highlights being The Orangerie providing the high quality Mediterranean artisan cuisine within a style-rich al fresco conservatory.
The Orangerie has been cleverly designed to amalgamate the stunning Cannizaro Park into the hotel’s al fresco dining experience. From the outside, the Orangerie complements the original hotel building, whilst inside a modern twist has been considered. With floor to ceiling glass sliding windows, the contemporary looking conservatory with green glass tiled flooring and high glass ceilings will allow for a cool breeze during the summer, whilst warming fires will keep guests cosy in winter.
Offering the best of artisan charcuterie and cheeses, alongside coastal freshly shucked oysters and daily plancha’s will be available on the seasonal menu. The food is sourced by a 3rd generation, local, Sardinian supplier, who provides the charcuterie and cheeses from small producers in mainland Italy and Sardinia.
Having already created a name for itself with two AA Rosettes, Cannizaro House’s restaurant serves British seasonal organic cuisine in the main dining room of the hotel. The Orangerie will complement the offerings in the restaurant, enabling diners to choose from a more fine dining experience to a more relaxed atmosphere where guests will be encouraged to share plates and boards.
